About

Born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Melissa Elliott is a singer, songwriter, teacher and music director performing under the alias "Missy Jo. Her songs explore cunning observations on the human experience - life, love, romance in the midst of apocalypse, her affinity for thrift shopping. Between her lyrical vulnerability, genre blending, and soulful voice, Missy Jo's music welcomes listeners into her world.

Her recent release, "Snow in Wyoming," grapples with her love-hate relationship for the relentless (and seemingly endless) Wyoming winters. A true Wyoming creation, the song was recorded at longtime friend Clay Humphrey's home studio in Jackson Hole and features his talents on violin, mandolin, bass, banjo, and backing vocals.
